THE TERRITORY: THE TUSCAN BORGO LARI
Lari is a little, classic tuscan borgo (village) situated in the Pisan hills, between the Pisan mountains and the sea. Lari has the ancient castle (a good tip for your Tuscan vacation) and its own food specialties, such as artisan pasta, cured meats and cherries.
Historically, the territory around Lari was always connected with agriculture and viniculture. Thanks to its autochthonous grapes varieties and to its peculiar climate it has been the center of wine production for centuries
The salty air from the sea blends with the air from the hills – this unique microclimate influence positively agriculture and viniculture.
Although the territory is exceptional in terms of morphology and climatic influences, both from the mountains and from the sea, for long decades Lari was associated only with the production of “farmer’s wines”, which – although good – could not fit into a high-quality market and price range.
Therefore we have decided to redevelop the area by going back to the origins, restoring abandoned vineyards and making wine with Tuscan grape varieties, with the aim of the expression of the terroir. You can get more information about Lari here.
